The latest update to Camera Raw (ACR) in Adobe Photoshop<\/strong> has seen a welcomed move of the Dehaze feature<\/strong>. As the name suggests, Dehaze is capable of removing haziness from photographs as well as the ability to add a bit of haze for effect.<\/p>\n

Haze can really be defined as selective low contrast<\/strong> areas within the midtones of the histogram. It\u2019s possible to perform similar actions to Dehaze through the Curves panel<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Moving the Dehaze feature from the Effect panel to the Basic panel in Camera Raw<\/strong> means that it fits more logically within the ACR workflow. Many photographers would expect to apply Dehaze during the initial stages of correction, and as such, it\u2019s now available from the starting Basic panel.<\/p>\n

Using Dehaze in Adobe Photoshop CC<\/h2>\n
    \n
  1. Open your image<\/li>\n
  2. Convert your image into a smart object<\/strong> (Filter > Convert for Smart Filters). This is always considered best practice for working non-destructively.<\/li>\n
  3. Open Adobe Camera Raw<\/strong> (Filter > Camera Raw Filter)<\/li>\n
  4. From the Basic Panel<\/strong>, drag the Dehaze slider to the right<\/strong> to remove haze.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    1. Open your image<\/li>\n
    2. Convert your image into a smart object<\/strong> (Filter > Convert for Smart Filters).<\/li>\n
    3. Open Adobe Camera Raw<\/strong> (Filter > Camera Raw Filter)<\/li>\n
    4. From the Basic Panel<\/strong>, drag the Dehaze slider to the left<\/strong> to add the desired amount of haze.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
