With its powerful, user-friendly interface, InDesign gives you the capacity to create templates and manage large amounts of styled content making your workflow efficient, consistent and simple to produce and edit stylish publications.
Adobe InDesign CS6 : Top new Features
As part of the Adobe Creative Suite, InDesign is seamlessly integrated with the other packages in the suite, including Adobe Bridge, Illustrator and Photoshop, allowing the user to import, manipulate and replace graphics, creating a smart, efficient and time-saving workflow.
By the end of this concentrated day of training, students will understand how InDesign can be used to maximise their workflow in creating print productions including :
- professional quality brochures
- books and magazine layouts
- templates for frequently used layouts
As this is an intensive one-day crash course, you should have already worked with Quark, PageMaker or have excellent knowledge of another Adobe product such as Photoshop or Illustrator.
It is very important that participants are comfortable with and capable of basic file management and menu commands within most Windows and Mac programmes; prior experience with Adobe products would also be advantageous. While training is conducted on PCs, the interface is virtually identical to the Mac version's with only very minor variations in the commands and menus.
If you are unsure whether you will be suitable for this course, please feel free to contact us and we will arrange for the InDesign Course trainer to give you a call.
This Crash Course for Adobe InDesign CS6 will quickly guide you through the workspace, toolbox and an array of panels that by the end of the day you will no longer fear and be equipped with the essentials of creating a layout for publication.
Some real-world, hands-on practice lessons will teach you how to build basic spreads, templates and create master pages that you can count on again and again to accomplish the task at hand. Together we will also look at applying and creating styles, placing text and graphics, basic colour management and packing it all up to go to press.
In one concentrated day of creating and working with documents, this course will broaden your understanding of structure, text, styles and graphics and give you control of the properties and editing tools that contribute to a great looking layout. We will also cover the output functions within InDesign for final press, including the use of the pre-flight process and exporting in the PDF digital format.
By the day's end, you will understand the wide range of possibilities available to you from this powerful software, gaining the desktop publishing confidence you need to hit the ground running!
"I found the course to be very beneficial. As it was a small group we were able to ask and discover answers to specific challenges faced in our everyday work." - Natasha @ Kimal plc
Tilky has been working as a professional graphic designer for 15 years and has experience in both the private and public sector.
After spending some time at an advertising agency in Miami, Florida, she transitioned to an in-house role at a large US engineering firm where she specialised in corporate identity branding and print design for marketing campaigns and various publications including magazines and annual reports.
Having previously conducted training to assist media groups transitioning from using Quark XPress to Adobe InDesign in America, she hopes to facilitate the process for Creative Suite users in Nottingham.
The trainers of our Adobe training courses are familiar with most previous versions of Adobe's Creative Suite and therefore will be able to guide your learning no matter which version of the software you have. We try to provide course content that is generic to versions CS3 to CS6, but your trainer will also showcase the features of the latest version. Currently we now demonstrate the functionality of the Adobe CS6 and Creative Cloud suites.
