Adobe's Muse steps away from the accepted browser based design view in favour of a pixel based implementation similar to that used by Adobe tools such as InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop.

The Adobe Muse Training is ideal for anyone already familiar with Adobe products including InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator etc. Anyone working in the print industry, design, fashion or with textiles will find this a natural progression from print to web. Adobe Muse was developed with that progression in mind.
To attend the Adobe Muse course you should have experience using either the Windows or the Mac operating systems, be capable of basic file management and know how to use standard menus and commands.
No previous design or graphics/image editing software experience is required, however, a basic knowledge of graphic design, a bit of creative flair and an eye for detail are always helpful.
Adobe Muse has been built with print designers who want to build websites in mind. Keeping with that theme, this two day training course is designed for those looking make the transition from print to web design. You will be able to work with flowing design and easy to construct forms, to quickly create website that look great and are packed with useful functionality for customer interaction.
The course looks at setting up websites in a similar way to working with documents. With Adobe Muse, what you get when you decide to create a new site is something similar to the new document options when working with a print document. Width, minimum height, number of columns, margin and padding - so print designers should be perfectly as ease here.
You will see how Adobe Muse is divided into four main areas, each of which corresponds to a clearly defined process within the web design workflow. Plan view provides designers with a visual layout of the structure of the website and allows them to add and build page templates called Master pages. Master pages correspond with the Master pages of InDesign and most of the initial site design is done via these master page templates.
The course shows you how to position any type of element at the pixel level without affecting any other element or the layout of the page and how to elements can be cropped, rotated and have filters applied to them as if they were standard layers in any print design package.
The real magic appears when we cover the web components that are included in the Widgets Library panel. We will look at prebuilt compositions that include groups of common web objects like custom tooltips, featured news areas and dynamic galleries along with a mix and match of basic components like lightboxes, accordions and tabs.
You will also learn how to build extremely flexible navigation bars. Adobe Muse makes it a breeze to create custom styled drop down and fly out menus, all of which automatically update themselves when you add new pages through the Plan view.
Once a basics have been covered, the course then looks at integrating social media such as Facebook buttons, Twitter Feeds, Youtube videos and Google Maps. Adobe Muse makes it incredibly easy for anyone with a creative idea to make it come alive on the web.
During the course, you will be able to use your own photos and branding and build them into the Muse website as you learn. You will also learn to easily manage your site and show off photographs and designs with a custom portfolio site.
